This painting grew from an exploration of movement and the desire to capture more of it within a still image.

I found inspiration in the fluidity of dance, the continuous rhythm of the sea, and the way nature is never truly still. These movements became intertwined with the softness and elegance of peonies; flowers that seem to unfold, bend and sway almost like they are moving through the canvas.

Rather than defining every shape, I allowed the paint to follow its own rhythm, searching for a sense of flow between the flowers, colours and gestures.

Where Peonies Sway is an exploration of that space between movement and stillness, capturing not a single moment, but the feeling of something continuing to move.
