About Nina

Nina Cornelissen Hoogwoud (1992)

Nina is a contemporary artist whose work is inspired by nature, wonder, and the beauty found in everyday life. From an early age, creativity has been a natural part of who she is. The moment she could hold a pencil, she began drawing, and that fascination with observing and creating has remained at the heart of her artistic journey ever since.

Over the years, Nina has explored a variety of techniques and mediums, including oil painting, aquarelle, and digital art. Her curiosity and love of learning led her to study at the University of Florence, the University of Amsterdam, and the Amsterdam Fashion Institute. There, she deepened her understanding of media, art, and culture, later specializing in branding and art education.

Today, Nina lives with her family in a quiet area near Amsterdam. Surrounded by nature and the rhythms of daily life, she finds inspiration in the small moments that are often overlooked. She is drawn to the extraordinary beauty hidden within ordinary moments. By slowing down and looking closely, she discovers details that reveal a deeper sense of connection, calm, and wonder. Through her work, she hopes to encourage others to do the same.

Her oil paintings are characterized by rich textures, flowing movement, and a dreamlike atmosphere. Inspired by the light, color, and emotion of the Impressionist tradition, she creates contemporary works that celebrate the delicate beauty of nature and the quiet magic of everyday life.

Nina works primarily with oil paint, building up multiple layers to create depth, texture, and movement.

Her process is intuitive, allowing each painting to develop organically while remaining rooted in observation and emotion.
